Tyro and Given are the first two track off our forthcoming EP, Elephino.

Colin - Drums
Jake - Vocals, Bass
Matt - Guitar

In the grand tradition of three-piece indie rock bands from Boston comes Bookkeeper, a three-piece indie rock band from Boston. The singer/bass player wants to be in a pop band, the drummer wants to be in a math band, and the guitar player wants to be in a hardcore band. Luckily, Bookkeeper doesen't sound like any of those things, and the negotiations have been parsimonious. The writing process isn't what you'd expect; there's only been blood once, and a small fire. But the damage is cleaned up, and Bookkeeper is busy playing songs off their new EP 'Elephino' at the hottest nightclubs in the greater Allston area. Look for them riding their wave of success outside of 128 soon!

Track Name: Tyro
You use my plucked feathers to write your love letters

You wake up still thinking
I'm with you you're dreaming

I'm weighted
You're holding on
I've tasted
Your bitter dust

You never want what you get when you get it enough
You've never got what you want until you're giving it up
Track Name: Given
I'll come apart in the coals
Another stone in the soil
I plant and water my soul among the marigolds

And at the end of the rains
My flesh will follow the leaves
Turn into water and meat and float away from me

As if through which to reclaim
the loving lips of a day
when my ungrateful remains
Still think I'm something unique

Beneath the weight of the world
Nobody's story be told

Not a kin
Not a king
Not a cardinal

A floorboard cracks a doorknob turns the lights go down and the phone won't work
I know you're waiting know you're waiting and you've waited enough

The paint is stripped the numbers wrong the roof fell in and the grass is gone
Now I'll be patient I'll be patient I'll be patient

The bright lights flicker in the daytime
Buttons by the bedside
Heard you through the white noise
Noone leaves alive
I see it with my eyes closed
Peeking in the windows
Waiting for the devil
Never alone

One fight and another to get through
Take a hand and the other will hit you
We walk forth from fire alone
And go back the way we come
One night of the darkest against you
Sunshine in the day it will be soon
We walk forth from fire alone
And go back the way we come

I pulled a little pit right out my brittle chest
Take plastic and wrap it up
I've given all I could.

You own
this heart
alone
its not
enough
for I
am all
opened
up
